The story

What is Valley Letters?

Valley Letters is a serialized story delivered as a monthly mail subscription. Each month you receive a physical envelope containing story letters, diary entries, and physical artifacts. The story is set in 1950s Appalachia and unfolds over 12 monthly installments. It is designed to be read in order, slowly, one installment at a time.

What is inside each monthly envelope?

Each installment contains five pieces: a keeper’s letter (a framed narrative letter addressed to you, the reader), her diary entry, his diary entry, a postcard or art insert, and a physical clue item. The contents accumulate meaning over time. Some items will not make full sense until later installments.

Do I need to read in order?

Yes. The story is built to be experienced in sequence. Details, patterns, and clues introduced early in the season carry meaning later. Reading out of order will reduce the experience significantly. If you fall behind, your past installments will be there waiting for you.

How long does the story last?

Valley Letters runs for 12 monthly installments, which means the full story unfolds over one year. All subscribers begin together at the start of a season and receive each installment at the same time.

What are the password-protected pages on the website?

Active subscribers may receive access to password-protected pages on mystorymailer.com as part of their subscription. These pages may contain supplementary story content, maps, or other materials connected to the narrative. Access details will be provided with relevant installments. Password-protected content is for active subscribers only and access ends when a subscription is canceled or expires.

Is Valley Letters a fantasy story?

Valley Letters blends elements of literary fiction, slow-burn romance, and the unexplained. The story involves a place that does not behave quite the way the rest of the world does. Whether that is fantasy, magic realism, or something else is something you will draw your own conclusions about as the story unfolds. We do not want to define it for you before you have had a chance to experience it.

Subscription

How much does a subscription cost?

Valley Letters is $14 per month, billed monthly. There are no setup fees or hidden charges. Your card is charged at enrollment and then on the same date each month until you cancel.

Can I join mid-season?

No. Each season of Valley Letters opens for enrollment once, and all subscribers begin together from the first installment. Joining mid-season is not available because the story must be read in order. If you miss an enrollment window, you can join the notification list to be alerted when the next one opens.

Can I pause my subscription?

We do not currently offer the ability to pause a subscription while keeping it active. If you need to stop temporarily, you can cancel and re-enroll at the next available enrollment window. Please note that re-enrollment is only possible at the start of a new season.

What if I miss a month or fall behind?

Your installment ships during the first week of each month regardless of whether you have read the previous one. Past installments are yours to keep and read at your own pace. The story does not expire. We do not sell individual past installments separately, so keeping your subscription active is the only way to collect each one.

Can I buy back issues or previous installments?

No. Past installments are not available for individual purchase. Each season is a closed set delivered to subscribers who enrolled at the beginning. This is intentional — the experience is designed around receiving each piece at the right time.

Enrollment

When does enrollment open?

Enrollment opens seasonally, approximately once every three months at the start of a new season. Enrollment windows are open for a limited time only. The best way to know the moment enrollment opens is to join our notification list at mystorymailer.com/subscribe.

Is enrollment open right now?

Valley Letters is currently preparing its first season. Enrollment is not yet open. Join the notification list and you will be the first to know the moment subscriptions become available.

What happens if I sign up for the notification list but miss the enrollment window?

We will email you when enrollment opens and again with a reminder before it closes. If you miss the window, you will be on the list for the next one. Enrollment windows typically stay open for one to two weeks.

Is there a limit on how many people can subscribe per season?

Yes. We reserve the right to limit the number of subscribers per season to ensure quality and fulfillment. If a season sells out before you subscribe, you will be notified and added to the waitlist for the next available season.

Billing

When will I be charged?

You are charged at the time of enrollment and then on the same date each month until you cancel. If that date falls on a weekend or holiday, your charge may appear on the next business day.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards through Stripe and PayPal. Payment is processed securely and we do not store your full card details on our servers.

How do I cancel?

Email us at info@mystorymailer.com with the subject line Cancel My Subscription and include the name and email address on your account. We will confirm your cancellation within two business days. Cancellations must be received at least five business days before your next billing date to stop the following month’s charge. See our Refund Policy for full details.

Will I receive a refund if I cancel?

We do not issue refunds once a monthly installment has been mailed. If you cancel before your next billing date, you will receive that month’s installment and your subscription will not renew. We do not prorate partial months. See our full Refund Policy for details on billing errors and exceptions.

What happens if my payment fails?

If a payment cannot be processed, we will attempt to contact you at the email address on your account. If payment is not resolved before your installment is prepared for mailing, your shipment for that month may be held. Please keep your payment method current in your account settings to avoid interruptions.

Will the price ever change?

If we change the subscription price, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance by email. Your continued subscription after the price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price. You can cancel at any time before the change takes effect if you do not wish to continue.

Shipping

When does my installment ship?

Installments are prepared and mailed during the first week of each calendar month via USPS. You will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information once your envelope is on its way.

How long does delivery take?

Estimated delivery after shipping is three to seven business days for the contiguous United States, and five to ten business days for Alaska and Hawaii. Delivery times may be longer during the November and December holiday period.

What if my installment never arrives?

If your installment has not arrived within 14 days of the expected delivery date, email us at info@mystorymailer.com with your name, address, and the installment number. We will investigate with USPS and, if the package is confirmed lost, we will offer a replacement (subject to availability) or a store credit. See our Shipping Policy for full details.

What if I need to change my address?

Email us at info@mystorymailer.com as soon as possible with your updated address. Changes must reach us before the first week of the month to take effect for that month’s mailing. We cannot redirect packages already in transit. You can also update your address in your account settings — see the Help page for instructions.

Do you ship internationally?

Not currently. mySTORY Mailer ships to U.S. addresses only, including Alaska and Hawaii. We do not ship to P.O. Boxes. International shipping may be offered in the future — join the notification list to stay informed.

Gifting

Can I gift a subscription?

Yes. Gift subscriptions are available for Valley Letters. The recipient will begin at the start of the next available enrollment window along with all other new subscribers. To arrange a gift subscription, email us at info@mystorymailer.com and we will take care of the details.

Can I buy a gift subscription outside of the enrollment window?

Yes. You can purchase a gift subscription at any time. The recipient’s subscription will activate at the start of the next enrollment window so they begin from the very first installment. We will confirm the start date with you at the time of purchase.

Can I send the subscription to a different address than my own?

Yes. When arranging a gift subscription, simply provide us with the recipient’s full name and mailing address. All installments will ship directly to them.

Are gift subscriptions refundable?

Gift subscriptions are non-refundable once the first installment has been mailed to the recipient. Please see our Refund Policy for full details.

Your account

How do I log into my account?

You can log into your mySTORY Mailer account at mystorymailer.com/my-account. Use the email address you subscribed with and the password you set at enrollment. If you have forgotten your password, click the Forgot Password link on the login page.

How do I update my mailing address in my account?

Log into your account, go to Account Settings, and update your shipping address. Please also email us at info@mystorymailer.com with your change so we can confirm it is applied before the next mailing date. Address changes made only in your account settings may not be reflected in our mailing system in time if they are made close to the ship date.

How do I update my payment method?

Log into your account and go to Billing Settings to update your payment method. Changes take effect on your next billing date. If your current payment is already past due, updating your card will trigger a retry of the failed charge.

How do I access password-protected story content?

Password-protected pages are accessible to active subscribers. The password for each protected page will be included in the relevant installment when it is mailed. You can also find your current access passwords in your account dashboard under Subscriber Content. If you are having trouble accessing a page, see the Help page or email us.

Accessibility

Is Valley Letters available in large print?

We do not currently offer a large print version of Valley Letters installments. If this is something you need, please email us at info@mystorymailer.com and we will do our best to accommodate your request. We take accessibility seriously and want the story to be available to as many readers as possible.

Is the story available in digital or audio format?

Not currently. Valley Letters is designed as a physical experience and is only available as a printed mail subscription. Digital and audio formats are not planned at this time, but we will update subscribers if this changes.

Can I request a specific font or format for accessibility reasons?

Please reach out to us at info@mystorymailer.com before subscribing to discuss your needs. We will let you know honestly what we are currently able to accommodate.
