Refund Policy

No Refunds on Mailed Letters

Due to the nature of our subscription service, we do not offer refunds once letters have been mailed.

Each letter is part of an ongoing narrative told in sequence. Once a letter has shipped, the story moment has been delivered, and we cannot take it back.

Why We Don't Offer Refunds

My Story Mailer is a seasonal, story-based subscription that depends on timing, sequence, and shared experience. Here's why we maintain a no-refund policy:

The Story Cannot Be Returned

Once a letter is mailed, the story has been delivered. Physical letters are sent directly to you and cannot be retrieved or returned. The narrative moment has been experienced.

Production Costs Are Incurred Immediately

Each letter is professionally printed, assembled, and packaged specifically for the subscribers of that season. Once production begins, costs have been committed.

Seasonal Enrollment Model

Subscriptions are only available at the start of each season. This model protects the narrative flow but also means we plan production around confirmed subscribers. Refunds after enrollment would disrupt this carefully planned process.

What You Can Do

Before Letters Are Mailed

If you need to cancel before your first letter ships, contact us immediately at mystorymailer@gmail.com.

We will issue a full refund if:

  • You cancel before the season begins
  • No letters have been mailed yet
  • You notify us in writing

Cancel Anytime After First Letter

You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account or by contacting us.

What happens when you cancel:

  • You will not be charged for future months
  • You will continue to receive letters for any months already paid
  • No refunds will be issued for past letters
  • Your subscription will end at the end of your current billing period

Pause Between Seasons

If you need to take a break, you can pause your subscription between seasons rather than canceling. This allows you to:

  • Skip a season without losing your subscriber status
  • Return when you're ready
  • Avoid canceling and re-enrolling

Note: Mid-season pauses are discouraged but allowed. However, no refunds are provided for months already billed.

Special Circumstances

Lost or Damaged Mail

If your letter is lost or damaged in transit, contact us within 10 business days of the expected delivery date. We will:

  • Work with USPS to locate your letter
  • Send a replacement letter when possible
  • Issue a credit for the affected month in rare cases where replacement is impossible

Incorrect Address

If you provided an incorrect mailing address and the letter cannot be delivered, we are not responsible for replacing it. Please:

  • Double-check your address before enrolling
  • Update your address in your account before each mailing
  • Contact us immediately if you move

Billing Errors

If you were charged incorrectly due to a technical or billing error on our end, we will issue a refund for the incorrect charge.

Understanding Before You Subscribe

By subscribing to My Story Mailer, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • No refunds will be issued once letters have been mailed
  • Subscriptions are billed monthly and automatically renew until canceled
  • Cancellations stop future billing but do not refund past charges
  • The story unfolds in sequence and cannot be paused or restarted mid-season without disrupting the experience
  • You are responsible for providing an accurate mailing address and updating it when needed
  • This is a physical mail service — delays may occur due to USPS or unforeseen circumstances

We want you to be certain before you subscribe.
