Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully before using the mySTORY Mailer website or subscribing to our services. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and mySTORY Mailer (“mySTORY,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a sole proprietorship operating at mystorymailer.com.

By accessing our website, placing an order, or subscribing to our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our website or services.

1. About the Service

mySTORY Mailer is a serialized physical subscription service. Subscribers receive one mailed installment per month containing printed story letters, physical inserts, and related narrative materials. The service is designed to be experienced in sequence from the beginning of each season.

Our service is available to residents of the United States only. We do not currently ship internationally.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use our website or subscribe to our services. By using our website or placing an order, you represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years old.

If you are between 13 and 17 years of age, you represent that you have your parent’s or legal guardian’s permission to use our services and that they have reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account or placing an order. You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of your information, including your mailing address.

3. Subscription and Enrollment

a. Enrollment Windows

Subscriptions to mySTORY Mailer open on a seasonal basis, approximately once every three months. Enrollment is only available during open enrollment windows. Subscribers who enroll during an open window will begin receiving installments from the start of that season. We do not allow mid-season enrollment, as the story must be experienced in order.

We reserve the right to limit enrollment numbers per season at our sole discretion.

b. Subscription Term

Your subscription begins on the date your enrollment is confirmed and continues on a month-to-month basis until canceled. Each month you will receive one installment of the story mailed to your address on file.

c. Billing

Your payment method will be charged the applicable monthly subscription fee at the time of enrollment and on the same date each month thereafter (or the next business day if that date falls on a weekend or holiday). By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

We currently offer subscriptions at the rate displayed on our Subscribe page at the time of enrollment. We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. If we change the price of your subscription, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance via email. Your continued subscription after the price change takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the new price.

d. Payment Methods

We accept payment through Stripe, PayPal, and WooCommerce-supported payment methods. All payments are processed securely by our third-party payment processors. We do not store your full payment card information on our servers.

You are responsible for ensuring your payment information is current and accurate. If a payment fails, we may attempt to recharge your payment method. If payment cannot be collected, your subscription may be paused or canceled and your installment for that month may not be shipped.

e. Gift Subscriptions

Gift subscriptions, where available, are subject to the same terms as standard subscriptions. Gift subscriptions begin at the next available enrollment window. Gift subscriptions are non-refundable once the first installment has been mailed.

4. Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your subscription at any time by contacting us at info@mystorymailer.com. Cancellations must be received at least 5 business days before your next billing date to avoid being charged for the following month.

If you cancel after your billing date but before your next installment ships, you will receive that installment and your subscription will not renew the following month. If your installment has already shipped at the time of cancellation, the cancellation will take effect the following billing cycle.

We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months. Once a billing cycle has been charged, that month’s installment will be mailed regardless of cancellation.

Canceled subscribers will not retain access to any season-specific content, private web pages, or password-protected materials associated with their subscription after the end of their paid period.

5. Refund Policy

Due to the physical and custom nature of our subscription mailers, all sales are final once an installment has been mailed.

a. No Refunds After Mailing

We do not issue refunds once a monthly installment has been prepared and handed to our shipping carrier. This applies to all subscription charges, including the first month.

b. Lost or Damaged Mail

If your installment is lost or significantly damaged in transit, please contact us at info@mystorymailer.com within 14 days of the expected delivery date. We will evaluate each situation individually and, at our sole discretion, may offer a replacement installment, a store credit, or another remedy. We are not responsible for delays or losses caused by USPS or other carriers, incorrect addresses provided by the subscriber, or circumstances beyond our control.

c. Incorrect Address

If an installment is undeliverable or returned due to an incorrect or outdated address provided by you, we are not obligated to reship at no charge. Please keep your mailing address current by contacting info@mystorymailer.com before the first week of each month.

d. Exceptions

Nothing in this refund policy limits your rights under applicable state or federal consumer protection laws.

6. Shipping Policy

All subscriptions ship to U.S. addresses only. We do not ship to P.O. Boxes. We ship via USPS First-Class Mail or similar services. Estimated delivery time is 3–7 business days after the ship date.

Installments are mailed during the first week of each month. Exact ship dates may vary slightly due to production timelines, holidays, or other factors. We will communicate any significant shipping delays via email.

We are not responsible for delays caused by USPS, weather events, or other circumstances outside our control once a package has been handed to the carrier.

7. Intellectual Property

a. Our Content

All content on the mySTORY Mailer website and in our subscription materials — including but not limited to story text, character names, artwork, illustrations, design elements, logos, trademarks, and the Valley Letters / mySTORYmailer narrative concept — is the exclusive intellectual property of mySTORY Mailer and is protected by United States copyright law and other applicable intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to access and enjoy the content for your own personal, non-commercial use only. This license does not include the right to reproduce, distribute, modify, publicly display, create derivative works from, or sell any of our content.

b. Prohibited Uses

You may not, without our prior written permission:

  • Reproduce, copy, scan, photograph, or distribute any printed story letters, inserts, or materials from your subscription
  • Post, upload, or share story content publicly online, including on social media, blogs, forums, or video platforms
  • Use our story content, characters, or narrative for any commercial purpose
  • Create derivative works based on our story or characters
  • Claim authorship of any part of the mySTORY Mailer story or materials

c. Fan Content

We love enthusiasm for the story. Non-commercial fan art, fan discussion, and personal creative responses to the story are generally welcome. However, we ask that fan content be clearly labeled as unofficial fan work and not be monetized in any way. We reserve the right to request removal of any fan content at our sole discretion.

d. Your Submissions

If you submit any content to us (such as testimonials, reviews, or creative responses), you grant mySTORY Mailer a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and display that content for promotional and business purposes. You represent that you own or have the right to submit such content.

8. User Conduct

By using our website and services, you agree not to:

  • Use our website or services for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of our website or systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the operation of our website
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access or collect data from our website
  • Post or transmit any content that is harassing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
  • Violate any applicable local, state, or federal law or regulation

9. Seasonal Content and Story Experience

mySTORY Mailer is designed as a sequential narrative experience. Past installments from prior seasons are not made available to new subscribers. We do not offer back-issue sales.

We ask that subscribers be respectful of other readers’ experiences and avoid publicly posting story spoilers or narrative reveals without clear spoiler warnings. The experience depends on the story unfolding slowly and in order.

10. Password-Protected and Private Content

Active subscribers may receive access to password-protected web pages or private digital content as part of their subscription. This access is granted to the individual subscriber only and may not be shared with non-subscribers. Access to private content expires at the end of your active subscription period.

We reserve the right to change, remove, or restrict access to private content at any time.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

OUR WEBSITE AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that our website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant that any particular installment will be delivered by a specific date, as delivery is subject to USPS and carrier performance.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, MYSTORY MAILER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OUR WEBSITE OR SERVICES, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR OUR SERVICES EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE THREE (3) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless mySTORY Mailer and its owner, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of our website or services; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights; or (d) any content you submit to us.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

a. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of West Virginia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

b. Informal Resolution

Before filing any formal legal claim, you agree to contact us at info@mystorymailer.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will try to resolve most concerns within 30 days.

c. Binding Arbitration

If informal resolution fails, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or our services shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA). Arbitration will take place in West Virginia or via telephone/video conference. The arbitrator’s decision shall be final and binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction.

d. Class Action Waiver

YOU AGREE THAT ANY DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROCEEDING WILL BE CONDUCTED ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT AS A CLASS ACTION, CONSOLIDATED ACTION, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

e. Exceptions

Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property rights or prevent irreparable harm.

15. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and notify you via email at least 14 days before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of our website or services after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must cancel your subscription before the changes take effect.

16. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your subscription or access to our website at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or non-payment. If we terminate your subscription without cause, we will refund any prepaid amounts for installments not yet mailed.

Upon termination, your license to use our content and access to private subscriber materials ends immediately.

17. Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions of these Terms will continue in full force and effect.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and Shipping Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and mySTORY Mailer with respect to your use of our website and services, and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
